Graham Gower writes about a recent BBC Channel Four Documentary ‘Holidays in Places that Don’t Exist’, about travelling in Azeraijan (Azerbaijan), which had a short clip showing the purchase of a carpet in a shop in Negorno Karabakh. Among the carpets shown was a War Rug with tanks, automatic rifles, buildings and figures, and very similar to those produced in Afghanistan. Size appears to have been around 3 feet square. Maybe this is a new War Rug ‘genre’ – a Caucasian War Rug?
